Prepare Test LocationsClean the floor: scrape and grind to remove debris and make a clean surface

Prepare the TestCheck integrity of sealed calcium chloride packages. Open packages, weigh dishes, record weight, date and time.

Place the TestRemove tape from dishes, remove cover and invert, place on concrete, install domes, press to seal check if seal is airtight.

Vacuum dust

Protect the TestInstall CAUTION tape, build wooden frame, or otherwise mark to avoid damage.

Obtain Results
(after required ASTM equilibration time)
Check airtightness of seals; cut open domes, retrieve dishes, invert covers, retape, weigh dishes, and calculate results. NOTE: ASTM F1869 requires test to sit 72 hours before obtaining test results.

Insert Total Reader. NOTE: ASTM F2170 requires test to equilibrate for just 24 hours before taking documentable readings.

CleanupScrape sealant from concrete; dispose domes, dishes, used calcium chloride, sealant.

Trowel one tablespoon patching compound onto each hole.
